Grabbing a blanket and snuggling deep into the comfortable depths of my sofa I was hoping to either fall asleep during a programme replaying what happened on the 26th of December 2004 or for someone to switch channels.

Because I knew at the end of it. I'd just feel horribly sad and sick with worry about the future of the human race in general. And perhaps on a more personal level, my own lifespan.

Another year gone by. See last year when the clocks struck 12 and it was officially the 1st of January 2009. I thought to myself - hmm this is going to be THE make or break year. I'm either going to screw my whole life up entirely or be successful in everything I do.

Now I'm one of those people who plan their whole lives from when they're going to graduate and where this would take place to where they're going to live and when they're going to have their first job and what they're going to be doing as a career.

And no matter how hard I try to not do that. Because I know that God will just do something amazing to remind me to put him and his wishes for me first. I still let everything just get ahead of me.

This year has been no exception. I planned for a million things. Thought a million things would happen. Hoped a million things would not happen. And now I can safely say, that not everything went to plan. It's been one hell of an unpredictable year.

But in the end, I turned out okay. I mean still alive and counting the chickens (and the blessings too).

I'm looking forward to so many exciting things in 2010. But reminding myself to take one day at a time.

And New Years resolution?
1. Develop healthy relationships based on the truth and the truth ONLY.
2. Read my Bible more.
3. Actually revise in advance for my exams rather than cramming 24 hours before.
4. Be a happier, nicer person to the world.

Happy New Year everyone :)

It's a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only variable is about what. The weird thing about telling someone they're dying is it tends to focus their priorities. You find out what matters to them. What they're willing to die for. What they're willing to lie for.

Another inspiring House quote.

What do you do with a boy who says he's not sure if he wants you any more in his life. Period. and then emails you 48 hours later to wish you a Merry Christmas?

Boys. Seriously. Why are they so weird and uncomfortably different?
Breaks my Heart.

Hm but nearly the end of the year :)
And following on from Nihal's countdown of the top 5 songs in 2009.
Here's my top 5 :)

5. Lady Gaga - Just Dance
4. N Dubz ft Mr Hudson - Playing with Fire
3. Prodigy - Invaders Must Die
2. Example - Won't go quietly
1. Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart

Have a great Christmas everybody :D

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Thursday, 17 December 2009

Everytime I'm in the lounge and mum switches channels to B4U Movies, my heart does flips in every direction possible. Somehow the nauseating mix of cheesy romance, hindi dialogue, and pretty people is kind of frightening. Why? Why. I don't know what this new fear is all about. But I do know, that every time B4U Movies is on and a face like Shahid Kapoor's comes on I feel the urgent need to run out of the room and hide behind my bundle of "to-do-revision".

On other notes,
It's snowing. Which means tomorrow morning when I wake up, hopefully, fingers crossed, there will be orange sky and a blanket of white snow everywhere. If not. I'll be thoroughly disappointed.

I stumbled upon this as well..

Today was meant to be an Enrichment Day i.e. an authorised day off school to enrich my life.

In many ways,
I did enrich my life.
First, I finally got around to dye-ing my black GAP jeans that really are not faded but just to be OCD'd I did it. Then saw my poor worn out Lee's lying on the chair and thought heck why not? So I tried to revive them as well. However, due to the lack of sunshine and minus freezing temperatures they're still drying so really, I don't know whether it was actually worth the £2.90 or whatever ridiculous amount I spent on buying the dye.

The rest of the day was spent watching The Disney Channel. I'm not sad or anything but it just makes me plain happy sometimes.

I also learnt that sometimes you have to let go to know whether it was all worth it and although love hurts, it does not mean you should not love.

As well as coming to the conclusion that some "old" people are just plain mean!

For example, Today trying to get the bus back home, Standing in the freezing cold, Blood flowing away from the extremities And the freaking bus decides to go off the boards TWICE. So I end up waiting over an hour for a bus to turn up. When it does creep along slowly the bus driver lady barks at me to wait outside. So here's me waiting for another 5 minutes while this lone man creeps out of the back down to the front of the bus. Finally when she does let me in (With the permission of the Queen herself) she tells me that I either squeeze into a space even paper cant slide through or I get off the bus. So I give her the "Are you kidding me?" look and get off the bus. 10 minutes later. The bus scheduled to come again goes off the board. When it does turn up, there's 2 other 54s trailing behind it. The first one with one passanger in the backseat. NOT HAPPY!

Evil world. Apart from more TSR stalking and trying to find out why I've been treated unfairly at work. My life atm is pretty much looking like it's hitting the recession curve.

Sad sad times.

Can't wait for Christmas on the other hand :D

Keeping up with the madness .. I got a block front fringe when I went to get my haircut. Absolute Madness.

I saw New Moon yesterday ( woo ) ..
Still a massive fan of the books... Somehow in the movies... The magic seems so lost :( ...

But definitely a recommended watch :D ... I mean.. Come on.. Who can resist a bit of mismatched romance?

And It's got to be said ... Team Edward all the way.

True blood? Omgosh..

This has got to be one of those things that you really should not watch.
It's almost a replay of Twilight (perhaps with better acting) and the overdramatic sex which makes you want to close your eyes and cringe majorly. But the twisted love triangle between human and vampire is just :D addictive?... or maybe I'm just a freak.

I found this whilst on TSR ... Thought I'd share cuz amongst the very highly intellectual profiles that make me look like a dumbass.... This one was just hilarious...

Hello!

I applying for medicine at Oxford, Bristol, Imperial and Edinburgh. I rejected for English last year by Derby, Wolverhampton and a few other excellent schools. I also rejected for Dairy Herd Management at Bristol UWE in Extra. So decided to go for something easire and less competitive like medicine.

I have A in Cambodian cookery, B in International English and C in Textiles. I not lived in UK for long but in Cambodia doctors is not as respected profession as writer so hoping that I'll get into my unmedicine choice, Derby for English so I can become international poet, but I not sure I have what it takes. I think I'll get into butchering (Medicine! Hah, Hah!) course though. I devoted a quarter of personal statement to medicine and three quarters to English but I got 96/100 on UKCAT so I think I'll get accepted for it. I must be one of top in country!

I do not have work experience but I do like to cook. I made a point that slicing pork is more difficult than heart surgery so they have to take me in personal statement.

Happy Birthday

Eighteen finally.

It's been a crazy weekend...followed by a crazy week! But I'm learning.. Learning new life lessons. I guess thats what life does. It teaches you things about people and relationships. It teaches you about yourself. 18 years of learning. I think I've done okay I guess. I mean, still alive right?

On a more religious christian point of view. I guess my relationship with God has progressed. I'm learning to trust him more. Baby steps as they say! I've learnt that when I fall he's always there to catch me and pull me through. That as much as sometimes I never understand what he does, I know wherever the journey ends, it was all worth it. And also how reliant I am on him when life gets a bit .......... poop.

On other updates
UKCAT today. results = screw you verbal reasoning!
"u werent being urself" - :S sad times!
I got offered a child ticket on the bus back home....woooo that made my day :D

56 Seconds

You know your in trouble when ASDA further reduces everything to less than half price. 2 and a half million unemployment rate and still counting.. damn this recession.

I overheard a convo yesterday on the bus. Something about every can of Red Bull reducing your life expectancy by 56 seconds. "56 seconds?", was the unamused remark made by the listener "56 seconds is not much..." ... Contrary... If only he knew how tragic 56 seconds could be to someone... right? .. or maybe... How valuable those 56 seconds could be to someone.

Obama has seriously done it now hasn't he? Calling Kanye West a jackass. I mean seriously? :S That's such a big mistake for his perfect nice guy image. Well atleast now we know he's human and not God.

I cannot verbal reason. I definitely cannot quantitatively reason. I am the worst Abstract reasoner you will find on this planet. But give me decision analysis, a pen and some paper - I'll be happy forever!

And really I should be studying. And I would be studying. If only I could! But hearing the constant banging of tiles is not helping.

Updates

This recession has gone on for too long! Gr someone print some more money! Make it stop :(

Other than that life is pretty much sailing along on calm waters!

Updates : Went down to London to meet the queen (you wish) .. no to meet my southie bffs for bonding time over lunch that was delayed by atleast an hour no thanks to a very late national express!

Also arranged work experience in a GP surgery in literally the middle of nowhere and I thought Chelmsford buses were unreliable and expensive.. pwah!

Personal statement. Grrrrr... Double grrrrrr...

Holidays nearly over and soon back at the Devil's cage. The prospect of sitting through 20 minutes staring at AMOs face and going through another whole year of trying to please her. Kill me now!!!

Day-trip my motivation dear.

Back

It only seems like yesterday I was standing in the Starbucks queue waiting for my skinny latte constantly getting calls from dad on the other end of the terminal to hurry up because it's boarding time.

Arriving in Anna International Airport, Chennai. The humidity just hits you and suddenly all you want to do is take off your clothes and have a cold shower.

I got screened for swine flu which was pretty exciting and Immigration check was the longest process ever. Like always we were in the cursed queue that moved the slowest!

Overall, it's been a crazy but amazingly quick holiday :( I got lucky and got to spend time with the boyfriend himself which was awesome fun. Going down to the beach and walking on the shore ..holding hands... reminiscing about past and future memories and goals. How much we missed each other.. How much we love each other.. It was a dream!

I've realised alot of things this holiday too. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Officially! I began to envy my cousins who lived in India..fighting for survival on a daily basis. Stupidly enough I crave the mess. The pollution. Going out in an auto and coming back hair smelling like petrol. The rush. The constant beep beeps on the road. Kissan fruit jam. Amul butter. Little hearts biscuits.

I realised that how much ever I may love living in England. Deep down.. this is not home. That one day I'll want to go back to where I've come from.

Right now it feels like as if I have a year of absolute pain to endure before going back for another month on holiday. It shouldn't feel like this surely. melodramatic? gah!

I miss my baby :( I've realised alot of things. One of them was ...I need him.

Summer

I drank far too much caffeine today.

I'm leaving for India Saturday morning. British Airways. Direct. Somehow.. I can smell the aeroplane. Stench of cold food enough to make the stomach do flips. Some lemony air freshener that will be sprayed to debug the plane carrying nearly 300 people. Not to forget the aching sensation in the ears once landed. Flying sucks.

The Departure Lounge is the best - because there's always the Arrivals waiting on the other end. It's one journey in life that actually has a destination that is known.

Waiting in the crowd at Immigration Check is the worst. Stupid government workers sitting on the other end with their frowns. Someone needs to introduce them to the wonderful effects coffee has. Stimulation is what they need!

What's worse? Going through Customs.

I feel so sick.

Reasons to be a doctor

I enjoy House.
I look forward to 9:00 pm Monday-Thursday and Sunday just so I can watch House.
House is amazing.
I want to be like Dr. House who is all knowing minus the depression, the Vicadin addiction and the emotion retardeness!

I think this will impress the med school admissions tutor very much. Do you not think?

Beauty

Okay Update : Challenge of Management with KEGS Day 1 was bearable. It wasn't a complete misery! So that's okay..

On my way back home on the bus I got thinking..Beauty.
It's hard to distinguish something to be beautiful isn't it? I mean sure people say beauty is what lies within or beauty is in the eye of the beholder .. But we don't always mean it do we? I mean I certainly can put my hands up and acknowledge the fact that sometimes I base judgments on looks and not the person within.

What about love. Beauty. Surely they both are connected. When you love someone you should almost forget what they look or looked like. They are bound to change in their physical appearance aren't they? It's being human. Breaking down of elastin and slower rate of skin cell regeneration. What about those annoyingly varying metabolic rates? I mean as long as someone is not overly obese or anorexicly underweight - it shouldn't matter should it?

Wrong. We're far too human.

Wednesday, 8 July 2009

I'm having a "paddy"

I hate unknown crowds. New people. New situations. You'd think I'd be the most tolerant of all three situations after all that travelling and school shifting. Heck no.

KEGs + Challenge of Management. Kill me now. Okay how bad can it get? Usually I'm a pessimist by nature so when reality occurs I'm hoping for the better side of things. The trying-not-to-jinx-it rule.

But nooo...I can predict my future now. I'm going to be stuck with people I may not get on with due to clashing personalities (not that I'm a difficult person to get on with, some people may not just like my face - in a totally not racist way of course!). Gahhh. Okay... So technically it's 9 hours and 15 minutes of my life isn't it tomorrow?.. I can deal with 9 hours and 15 minutes of unfamiliarity. Yes sir. No problemo.

I mean... it's not like I'm going to be in a COMPLETELY new situation with COMPLETELY new people. Considering pretty much every one of those "people" are going to be highly intelligent 16-17 year olds.. Oh that doesn't bother me at all :S

I'm that donkey you try and drag to the river hoping it will take a drink but it never does. If that made sense.

Ponderings

“When this is over, there will be more fear in the world”

Fear.

A four letter word. As simple as Love and Hate.

Power. Money. Tell me you don’t want them and your not bothered and I will come visit you ten years from now.

Happiness. What is it like to be happy? Simple Happiness. I think I forgot. Eating an ice-cream on a sunny Saturday afternoon makes me happy. Does that count?

I fear a lot of things in life. I fear the man who said those words in quotations. Is it good to be afraid? Should I put on my brave face and walk around pretending everything’s okay.

This world has lost it. Find me a black hole out of this mess we’ve created. You will find there is none. To some things in life there are no solutions. Some people just do not want to accept that.

“You’re very close to heaven, brother... Insha'Allah"

When you hear someone give that as a reason for a mortal to kill another one of his kind - You wonder what kind of heaven he plans on going to. A one filled with serial killers? Did no one ever tell them that could be Hell they were referring to?

I preach “love your neighbour as yourself” yet I fail to practise it in many everyday situations. Does that make me a hypocrite? Or a normal human being caught up by the world and it’s expectations.

This world can build you up. One mistake and the same world will crush your existence. The cause of Michael Jackson's death was not himself but the world.

Quotations used were taken from Dispatches:Terror in Mumbai aired on Channel 4. Catch up on 4OD. No offence intended.

I feel

Used.
Tired.
Angry.
Confused.

Apprehensive? Sometimes you want something so bad and you wish there was nothing in the world that would stop you from getting that something or someone but then life gets in the way.

Sometimes you have to question. Is it a good thing that life gets in the way? Or is it life's way of being poop.

No matter what, if your the kind of person that won't rest till you get it your way - even life can't stop you.

Then you end up with a million questions.

Frankly, I just need to clean my room.
I may have developed OCD overnight ...well I'm blaming it on going to a girl's grammar school.
Have a good week everybody.

Bitterness

Becoming a rockstar is easier than getting into medical university.

And what's worse? Getting work experience in a GP's surgery is as impossible as trying to slam a revolving door!

Life's not good. I am a bitter person. A sour bitter person.

Equal Oppurtunity is nothing but a load of absolute nonsense.
This world is a lost cause.
I need some work experience with a GP and If I haven't got any arranged by the end of term I will resort to knocking on every surgery in Chelmsford begging for some! How passionate about something can you get and yet......

Cricket Matches and End of Exams

Woo It rained today! Not just pissy raindrops that can't seem to decide whether they want to be plummeting towards the ground but big fat round ones! Having just walked out of the hairdressers with a new haircut all straightened and finished immaculately well by the graduate stylist, I was NOT impressed!

But while sheltering at the bus stop for dad to pick me up I got snapping. Sorry about bad pic quality!

And this one was taken in the car.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a sunny day!

Weather matters aside; Exams are finally over! Wooooo! RAVERAVERAVE!

And loving the Twenty20 Cricket season too! India deserved to be beaten by England. Oh yeah they needed that extra kick up their backside. Newsflash

Scones and Statistics

I made some scones on Friday. They were quite nice except for the fact that they were ment to be circular and ended up being square.

I hate statistics. It is not even interesting or fun or challenging. It is just plain boring. And after nearly a month of continuous exams I think my brain is going to give up.

I need some fun. Fun. The no-strings-attached-kind-of Fun.

The moment of truth

He caught her neck and tightened his grip, whispering "Your Mine...".

Laughter.

She was scared for her freedom. Why she asked herself. Why me. She promised herself that if she was ever in a relationship like this she'd end it all. But she couldn't do to it him. Not after what she did before. Looking into his demanding bloodshot eyes, she bit her lip, desperately trying to picture a more sober loving him. Even if it was all a lie. It was better than this.

If only she didn't go hunting for the truth. She would have been happier. She wouldn't be in this mess. If you could call it a mess.

Advancing towards her, she noticed his eyes change - they became softer. Bigger. Like an innocent afraid kitten. "Please don't go. I'm sorry. I love you," he begged.

Yeah right. If he loved her he would give it all up for her. Just like how she gave it all up for him. She didn't want this. She wanted a normal relationship. Just like everyone else. Boy loves Girl and Girl loves Boy.

Not in a million years.

He pulled her closer to him. She felt his breath on her lips and the wetness of her tears down her cheeks. Big fat teardrops. This was it. Now or never she thought. You or me. And after all of this - it will be you and with that she brought the knife to his heart. Hard enough for him to tighten his grip on her - this time in fear. She watched him hit the ground.

Friday, 22 May 2009

I love you

He could feel the icy cold water hit him. The underwater currents tossing and throwing him around this abyss he found himself in. If only she'd reach out and hold his hand and not be afraid of falling into it with him.

But then again..He promised her the world.. Restricted her from the same things that were his pleasures in life.

And now she has nothing... but herself while he's off on a mission to save the world... so why should she care to save him... when he tried to drown her first...?

What goes around comes around..
..Babe.

Get some sleep

Hmpf Why does life have to be so gay sometimes :( - Not that I have anything against gayness or homosexuality or gay people in general. Speaking of which; You know when people say oh yes there are some pretty crazy books in the library and you think to yourself.. No way what do YOU use the library for? Well it so happened that Rosh and me sat near an aisle that was filled with educational literature about lesbianism and cross dressing. Oh dear Oh dear.

I seem to have developed this new nack for - ; - yes those symbolly things. I don't even know what they're called. :S this is bad. My general studies examiner is going to think I have no basic punctuation. Sad times.

1:45 and no sleep. Yes horlicks has been drunk. I need to sleep. I need to be at the library by 8 doing hardcore revision. Why can't I fall asleep?

At times like these it's so hard to find faith and hope. Ref to Sunday's sermon - Like that hopefull person. "Hopefully I will get the grades" ... "Hopefully my future will be okay" ..."Hopefully I will understand what is going on in my life?!"

Sigh.

Sigh. Something's you just have to let go. And no matter how much you wish you could scream it in that certain person's face so they could understand how frustrating it is to watch them use you like a piece of tissue - the only way is to let go.

Oh gosh College tomorrow - or sixth form as some like to call it. Not school please. Maybe a prison sentence. Okay it isn't that bad. It's tragic. I'd rather waste my life away sitting on the couch watching re-runs of Gilmore Girls and Friends than learn about the molecular structure of DNA with MRL. Man, that guy is mental. Wacko, completely wacko in his head! Just because I am not an avid fan of Biological literature and don't find the role of enzymes fascinating!

My cat doesn't like Sainsbury's SO ORGANIC CAT FOOD WITH CHUNKS OF CHICKEN IN A GRAVY WITH SALMON. Craziness. And suddenly he doesn't like milk either. Special lactose free cat milk!

Sigh sigh sigh.

Tragic Love

Head spinning, she fell against the cold concrete wall for the third time today night. Hard. It hit her.

Why was he being like this? He was never like this!

Surely, she was just being open. He said he loved her...

Bring it out again, another whip. Things begin to slow down in her mind. Oblivious to the pain she looked up at him. Whisper. Please honey let's talk...

Silenced.

The sound of leather against skin. The smell of rustic blood. Woozy.

She steadied herself and found the strength to lift her head again - balancing tentatively on her hands. Breathe.

They warned her. They told her he was no good. And yet. Haha Love is blind. Isn't it? How would they know? He knew her. He was her life. Everything she did revolved around him. He was after all just a victim of the situation. Those accusations must have hurt him. No, This was her fault. Maybe if she gave in - she had to protect the little one.

She reached out to him with one hand and noticed the crimson bruises. Sore - the blood that had clotted opened into fresh streams. It hurt. Just like when he ripped open with those insults. But before she could bring her brain to process words - he'd turned and left.

She looked down in defeat and stared at the life growing in her. A warm hand over it. She wanted to cry but her eyes ached. Lonely. Today was meant to be different. He was not meant to come home drunk. He was not meant to throw the dishes on the floor. He was not meant to remind her of the past.

He was meant to know the present so they could plan their future.

The word of the month is...

Touché! Absolutely Loveit like lemonade on a sunny afternoon :D

Since, I haven't utilised my day to the max by doing useful things with my life which mostly include revision, revision and yes more revision I have decided to blog. This is slightly useful isn't it?

I went to the Open Day for Queen Mary's today. Wooo Barts and London. Love that too! Don't ask why. I have a fixation on that place. Having said that, I've probably completely jinxed any chance that I had getting in.

Anyhow, all things irrelevant aside. It has been a good day.

Fact
London Liverpool Street Station has NO BINS! That, or I need to book an appointment with an optician now now now!

Here's a challenge for everyone who reads this - Smile. :)

I lost it..

Once again my brain seems to have disappeared on a long long trip to Someplaceidontknow. Which pretty much sucks because now I have to use thesaurus to find the words I want. There's nothing vaguely exciting happening on the news either to moan about. So I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Rusty seems to be loving the sunny weather. He spends his day sitting on my window sill either wishful thinking about the birds flying overhead or snoozing. Easy life.

I'm so jealous :(

It has been one long long term of pleasing teachers and attempting past papers and rushing through the syllabus. Joyous fun. And then reports. Sixth form is incredibly amazing. Really, I don't know why I couldn't wait to start it!

Looking at things on the brighter side of the spectrum - It's the Easter break! Two weeks of contemplating revision. :)

This book is so so awesome. You need to go out, buy the book and read it. Why? Because it will change your view on a million different things. Grace is a pretty cool thing.

I also took the initiative to spring clean my room. For the sake of my mother and found a few things to add to my wall - which when my parents see will probably freak them out slightly but oh well!

I shall end this post here mainly because I really don't know what to say. Maybe when my brain decides to kick itself into action...

I take way too many picturs of Rusty. Oh welll.......

Valentines Day, Soya Milk and Horlicks

Reasons to be Happy.
1. Its Half Term - Yay! Finally. It's been one long term yet one so short! Exams! Snow days! Prefect Applications! Exciting stuff or what? Atleast we're one month down - 11 more to go to the end of the year.
2. Couples Day was funny - We were probably the best mimic of The Saturdays! Plus we all can sing (well - i try). If only we had the hair...
3. Finally, I have work experience arranged with the geriatrics dept in some Hospital! :D This has been one long process But I am soo looking forward to it :) and will keep you guys updated with anything fun that happens.
4. It's Valentine's Day tomorrow. Woo and although he is 6000 miles away from me I shall try and make it special! :) Since I have an obsession with Photoshopping pictures and It's a Valentines Day Tradition for me to photoshop a pic of the both of us and give it to him as a gift.
